How long have you been in school? I counted mine was 15 years. It's not a short time to spend. All of us never think about it. We never try to count how long we have been studying in school. It spends time the most, even it can be most of our lifetime. I feel like I have been studying for all of my life. Lol. Considering the time we have spent, we should have learned so many things during school life. It supposed to be.
Our education system is still not mature yet compared to the other improved country's systems. The government especially the Ministry of Education often changes the education policy as if students are their experiment objects. Maybe we can try to understand their choice to change the policies often. Let say, they just try to find an education system that can fit us the best. Even though, it cost a lot especially for the phycology state of the students who constantly try hard to adapt to the new education system. I feel so grateful that I never have to experience such an extreme condition that forces me to adapt to the several changes in the education system just like what my juniors have been going through lately. It will stress me out. Our students are mostly not ready yet for the sudden change in our education system. Sometimes, the government doesn't try to find the best way. They are just trying to be different from their precursor when the cabinet changes. Isn't it such a waste? Now that government tries to give free education. We have to appreciate it. Even though it's still not followed by the quality itself. At least, they have tried.
Can you remember how many times our education systems have been changed? You can't even remember them. And now, our students still have to adapt to the changes in the education systems more and more. Isn't it so tiring? I can't even imagine how it feels. And what about our children in the future? Do they still need to feel so? It can't be, we can't let it be. I have a sister who is still in the second grade of high school. She once even told me that her school days were always really tiring and boring. She had to come to school till the late afternoon than at the weekend, she still had so many school assignments yet homework to do. It sucked. I always wish that our school days can turn into something fun that makes students feel so excited to attend every day. Sadly, the education system that supposed to be the best way to improve our quality of life turns into something that bothered us the most. Education is supposed to break the cycle of poverty yet to make our generation have a brighter future.
I don't know why a developed country like us just can't do better in the way of finding the best system for our education. We still don't know what we need to create a better generation. Do we need to imitate Finland that seems to have the best education system in the world? It can be true if we can be such good citizens that be able to commit to being disciplined in every aspect of life. Is it hard to achieve? Sure, but it will be worth the efforts. We as a future parent or currently parents have to concern about the education of our children. It's because we are their role model in the first place. We are the source of their basic education. Maybe it can be a simple way to stop complaining to the government about the bad quality of our education system or waiting for them to find the best education system. The Government often makes us disappointed that we need to do it ourselves. Just don't give up.
Ps. Pardon my bad English. I'm working on it.
